La stanza della nonna

La stanza di Nonna, or Grandma’s Room, is a double room with queen size double bed; shower in an alcove, peachy pink Rosa Pesco di Asiago marble bathroom and a terrace with a corner for relaxation.

View: over the vegetable garden and pergola
Dimensions: 24m² (258 square feet)+8m² (86 square feet) exterior.

“I tread softly as I pass Nonna’s room: if I listen hard, I can almost hear her still. She was always complaining her foot gave her constant pain. We gave her the nearest room so she didn’t have to strain it any more. You can still smell the lingering perfume of lavender, hear the click of her knitting needles in the silence and the rosary as it passed through her fingers”.

La Stanza del Tuttofare, or the handyman’s room, is a double room with queen size double bed, shower in an alcove, green Verde Alpi marble bathroom, and a terrace with a corner for relaxation.

View: over the vegetable garden and pergola.
Dimensions: 24m² (258 square feet)+14m² (150 square feet) exterior

“I used to get lost in the infinite number of shelves and drawers he kept his tools in, intricate contraptions to which we entrusted the fate and maintenance of the house. Somewhere underneath it all was the face of the Virgin Mary watching as he worked, a gift from the parish priest the day he arrived”.

La Stanza dello Zio Matto, or the mad uncle’s room, is a double room with queen size double bed, shower in an alcove, Persian yellow marble bathroom and a terrace with a corner to relax in.

View: over the vegetable garden and pergola
Dimensions: 29m² (312 square feet)+8m² (86 square feet) exterior

“Our uncle showed us everything with enormous pride, each little keepsake was catalogued and well cared for, from his old rackets to music-cassettes, these last the soundtrack to nights which have since become the stuff of legends.”

La Stanza del Curato, or the parish priest’s room, is a double with queen size double bed, a large linear shower, Calacatta Statuario Rosato marble bathroom.

View: over the road
Dimensions: 35m² (377 square feet)

“That parish priest was always telling us off: we could not run, shout, play, or even breathe outside his door. Now I can share this with you: I was always a bit scared of his window, always closed with the curtains drawn”.

La Stanza di Annarella, or Annarella’s Room, with a queen size double bed, sitting room with sofa bed, shower in an alcove and Calacatta Oro marble bathroom, is ideal for families.

View: garden
Dimensions: 29m² (312square feet)

“If I think about Annarella’s room, I can see her whole family’s suitcases, open and stuff tumbling out, each of a different size: small, big and enormous, like the Three Bears in the old children’s story. I loved Annarella. I never told her that if I was always so sweaty, it was because she made my heart beat so fast I could feel it thumping all over my body”.

La Stanza di Marina, or Marina’s Room, is a suite with queen size double bed, a large minbar, fireplace, lounge area, marble bathroom with shower, terrace with a corner for relaxation. An extra two beds can be added.

View: sea (in the distance)
Dimensions: 178m² (1916 square feet) + 15m² (161 square feet) of terrace

“I’ll never forget that summer with her at home, as she smoked her long, thin cigarettes. She always left the door open, she undressed and pretended nobody was looking. She bit into figs with her eyes closed, with the juice running off them and landing on her furry slippers. Annarella was annoyed with me for quite some time”.
